Accountability and follow-up on recommendations
The AIGDD organises accountability around verifiable information, clearly defined responsibilities and documented follow-up of the commitments made following assessments, reviews and audits.
The AIGDD organises accountability around verifiable information, clearly defined responsibilities and documented follow-up of commitments made following assessments, reviews and audits. Recommendations are recorded, categorised and linked to the institutions or units responsible for addressing them.
Monitoring covers the measures selected, deadlines, progress, supporting evidence and any difficulties encountered. Recommendations can be categorised according to their status: pending review, accepted, partially accepted, being implemented, implemented, closed or rejected with justification.
This traceability makes it possible to verify that the findings produced do indeed lead to decisions, corrective measures or formalised resolutions. It also strengthens the institutions’ ability to account for the way in which evaluation conclusions are taken into consideration.
Accountability therefore does not end with the publication of a finding: it is also measured by the institution’s ability to document the follow-up actions taken.
