Project and programme management and oversight
The quality of a project does not, in itself, guarantee the quality of its execution.
The quality of a project alone does not guarantee the quality of its execution. Between the initial decision and the expected results, performance depends on the ability to maintain clear governance, effective coordination and constant monitoring of progress.
Scattered responsibilities, delayed decisions or insufficient visibility of risks can gradually cause the project to veer off course.
The AIGDD therefore strengthens the steering mechanisms needed to maintain control of the project, inform decision-making and ensure continuity of action.
Governance and coordination
The quality of implementation depends on a clear division of responsibilities and decision-making mechanisms capable of functioning over the long term. The initiative focuses on the organisation of steering bodies, decision-making processes, the coordination of stakeholders and the traceability of decisions, in order to minimise deadlocks and areas where responsibilities are insufficiently defined.
Execution and performance
Project management is based on a consolidated overview of progress, resources, risks, deliverables and results. Deviations from commitments are analysed to inform decisions, prioritise adjustments and keep the project on track. Dashboards, alert systems and reporting serve as decision-making tools here, rather than merely administrative monitoring tools.
Continuity and transfer
The end of an implementation phase must not undermine the project’s achievements. Management systems, responsibilities, tools, knowledge and monitoring mechanisms are gradually integrated into the structures responsible for ensuring continuity. This preparation reduces dependence on external assistance and strengthens the institution’s capacity to sustain results over time.
This steering mechanism ensures continuous monitoring of performance and enables adjustments to be made to implementation without losing sight of the results, responsibilities and continuity of the intervention.
