Who are we?

As the operational arm of the World Association for Development, the AIGDD plays a key role at the interface between governance, engineering and the management of development.

As the operational arm of the World Association for Development, the AIGDD operates at the interface between governance, engineering and the management of development. It helps institutions ensure continuity between their priorities, the responsibilities they have undertaken, the resources mobilised, the implementation of interventions and the expected outcomes.

Its work covers the entire development management cycle: assessment, planning, programming, the structuring of policies, programmes and projects, the organisation of management, performance monitoring, evaluation, knowledge capture and the digital transformation of management systems. The mechanisms employed are tailored to the mandate, capacities and context of each institution.

Who are we?

Our vision

The AIGDD upholds a vision of development based on strong, accountable and effective institutions, capable of designing, implementing and evaluating initiatives that bring about lasting change for people and communities.

This vision brings together the quality of governance, rigorous methodologies, reliable data, clear lines of responsibility and continuous learning. It places risk management, the traceability of commitments and the utilisation of results at the heart of institutional decision-making.

Our mission

The AIGDD’s mission is to strengthen the capacity of institutions to effectively plan, structure, steer, monitor and evaluate their development policies, programmes and projects.

To this end, it helps to improve governance and management systems, strengthen strategic planning, structure intervention mechanisms, organise coordination and steering, develop monitoring and evaluation systems, improve data reliability, enhance transparency and accountability, support evidence-based decision-making and facilitate the digital transformation of management systems.

It carries out its mandate without taking over the specific responsibilities of the institutions it supports. Its role is to provide them with the methods, capacities, tools and mechanisms necessary to better manage their interventions and consolidate their results in the long term.
